In 2019 Switzerland imported goods worth slightly over CHF 1 billion, mainly precious stones and precious metals. Swiss exports to Suriname – mainly chemicals and related products and also machinery – amounted to CHF 3.5 million.

Researchers from Surinam can apply to the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) for Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships.
