The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs confirms it has repatriated two minors from the Roj camp in north-east Syria. The children are now on their way to Switzerland, having passed through Iraq. This repatriation was carried out with the consent of the children’s mother and of the mother’s lawyer, and within the framework of the Federal Council's decision of 8 March 2019, which allows the repatriation of minors subject to an examination and in the interest of the child.

The operation was conducted in collaboration with the competent authorities in Switzerland and abroad, including those in charge of the camp the children were in. In order to protect the children and their privacy, no further information can be provided on this repatriation.
