What does the FDFA Compliance Office do?

The Compliance Office is responsible for investigating offences or irregularities reported by staff, partners or third parties and serves as the central point of contact within the FDFA. It also helps to strengthen staff capacity and integrity standards, predominantly through appropriate training.

It is the policy of the FDFA Compliance Office to treat all information reported as confidential and protect whistleblowers. Incidents may be reported on an anonymous basis, although the relevant matter will then be determined on the basis of available information. 

What's the best way to contact the FDFA Compliance Office?

If you have reasonable grounds for suspecting that an offence or irregularity has occurred, please report the incident, providing as much detail as possible, to:

What can be reported?

Some examples of reportable offences or irregularities, which affect the FDFA or FDFA-funded programmes or projects, are provided below:

  • Accepting or offering gifts and entertainment
  • Giving or accepting an undue advantage (nepotism, influence peddling)
  • Unresolved conflicts of interest
  • Fraud, deceit, scams (in executing projects, preparing reports and disclosing information to auditors, assessors etc., price-fixing, price manipulation, use of unauthorised or defective products, false accounting, etc.)
  • Theft, misappropriation of funds, misconduct in office
  • Breaches of the Code of Conduct for Contractual Partners of the FDFA 
  • Any other actions prejudicial to the interests of the SDC 

What happens once a report is submitted?

The FDFA Compliance Office will send a confirmation of receipt and investigate the matter as required. Whistleblowers do not have the right to be informed about any steps or measures taken on the basis of their report.
