Official visit by the Swiss President Micheline Calmy-Rey in Azerbaijan

At the invitation of Azerbaijan, President Micheline Calmy-Rey will arrive this weekend in Baku on an official visit. The programme includes talks with Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister Arthur Rasi-Zadeh and other government representatives, including Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and Finance Minister Samir Sharifov. 

In addition, a visit to the Azerbaijani exclave of Nakhichevan is scheduled. The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) is running a project to improve the water supply in this mountainous and arid region.
