Communication abroad not only takes place outside of Switzerland’s national borders. The activities within Switzerland are also an important component of communication abroad.
With foreign delegations, what matters most is to communicate the priority issues of communication abroad to journalists, opinion leaders in the fields of politics, business and science and to students. This communication must tackle the context of issues critical of Switzerland and also its strengths. Travel to Switzerland may take place in the form of a state visit, a study of a specific topic or an opportunity to gain an insight into Swiss reality.
Every year, between 55 and 65 study visits take place; a total of 700 to 900 people visit Switzerland.
Major organised events and prestigious institutions with a worldwide outreach
Major international events and prestigious institutions with a worldwide outreach based in Switzerland, such as the World Economic Forum, Art Basel, the Federal Institutes of Technology or World Class Zurich are highly beneficial for Switzerland’s image abroad. Presence Switzerland’s active involvement is thus reinforced in the framework of organised events that are already well established.
In parallel, Presence Switzerland organises thematic events along with partners from the public and private sectors.
