Switzerland and Guyana have concluded agreements on the reciprocal waiver of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic or official passports, on extradition and on the protection of investments. The Swiss embassy in Caracas (Venezuela) represents Switzerland's interests in Guyana.
In 2023 Switzerland imported goods – primarily gold – worth CHF 180,000 from Guyana. Swiss exports to Guyana – primarily machinery, metals and electronic devices – amounted to CHF 1.1 million.
Researchers and artists who are citizens of Guyana can apply to the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) for Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships.
