Promoting financial inclusion for rural youth in Tanzania

In celebration of the International Women’s Day, the Embassy of Switzerland in Tanzania together with the Financial Sector Deepening Trust (FSDT) will today launch the Rural Youth Inclusive Finance Study during a virtual event held at 1400 hrs. The study shares in-depth knowledge of the financial behaviours and challenges of rural youth in Tanzania, particularly young women, between the ages of 16 and 24. 

Call for Proposals: Innovation Fund

Switzerland and Tanzania sign Bilateral Agreements to improve health and livelihoods

On October 6, Switzerland and Tanzania signed two Bilateral Agreements worth CHF 17.8 million (TZS 44.1 billion) to improve health and livelihoods of Tanzanians through the Health Basket Fund (HBF) and Tanzania Social Action Fund (TASAF). The Agreements were signed in Dodoma by the Swiss Ambassador to Tanzania, H.E. Didier Chassot, and the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance and Planning, Mr. Doto James.

Bicycles changing the lives of school girls

At least 1,000 female students are now able to reach school in a much faster and safer manner. Through the SDC-funded Bike2School4Girls programme, students can now commute to school in only 30 minutes, a journey that previously took an average of two hours.

Embassy organises workshop on gender
