Strengthening Primary Health Care in Kosovo

The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) will be supporting the Ministry of Health in conducting a thorough assessment of the quality of Primary Health Care (PHC) services in all Kosovo municipalities. The study shall serve as an important basis for orienting future investments in the health sector by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo as well as the donor community.
On 5 July 2018, the initiative was discussed with representatives of all Kosovo municipalities, which appreciated an independent, evidence-based assessment of the needs and priorities for improving the quality of care provided to the citizens of Kosovo.
Swiss support to this process follows the positive experience of enhancing the quality of PHC in 12 Kosovo municipalities, where the SDC project Accessible Quality Healthcare is being implemented since 2016.
