Beginning March 25, 2021: Travelers arriving in Switzerland from the USA will no longer have to go into quarantine (FOPH).
Mandatory for all airline passengers travelling from the USA to Switzerland:
- Present valid proof of a negative PCR test, taken no more than 72 hours (time of specimen collection) before departure. Children under the age of 12 are exempt from the test requirement. For further exemptions and acceptance of a rapid immunological test conducted less than 24 hours before departure, please see the website of FOPH.

The Federal Council recommends to avoid non-urgent foreign travel whenever possible.
Swiss citizens must travel with a valid Swiss passport in order to enter Switzerland. Dual citizens should be aware that U.S. citizens are required by law to enter and leave the United States with a U.S. passport.
