Swiss immigrants to the Midwest have made valuable contributions to the growth of this great region, currently home to over 300 Swiss companies which provide almost 100,000 high-paying quality jobs to the local economies.

From the shores of Lake Michigan, our mandate is to strengthen relations with state and local authorities in our jurisdiction, which include Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

We also focus on promoting trade relations, investments, and Switzerland’s interests through public diplomacy. Our goal is to bring partners in Switzerland and the Midwest together to further bolster an already excellent bilateral relationship. An outstanding example of a fruitful cooperation is the connection between the cities of Chicago and Lucerne in Switzerland. Indeed, during the past 20 years, the Lucerne Artist Studio in Chicago has hosted over 60 creators and provided the platform for an exchange between artists in those sister cities.

In addition, our team supports and promotes the activities initiated by the Swiss Embassy in Washington D.C., the Swiss Business Hub USA, Swissnex, Switzerland Tourism as well as those of various Swiss associations and clubs throughout the Midwest.

Please note, visa and other consular services for Swiss citizens and visitors will continue to be provided by the consular section of the Swiss Embassy in Washington D.C. (for Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska), and the Swiss Consulate General in New York (for Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin).
