On 1 March, the embassy held an online info session on the charity Aidha. Thank you to those who attended our 1 March sharing session on Aidha, and a special thanks to our speakers: Aidha CEO Jacqueline Loh, Aidha alumnus Emma Coquilla, and Deputy Head of Mission Nikolas Stürchler. Partnership with Aidha on short courses

The embassy is pleased to announce our new partnership with Aidha (https://www.aidha.org/), an award-winning local charity that helps empower migrant domestic workers (MDWs) and other low income women in Singapore to achieve economic independence. Through its courses on money management, communication, computer skills and entrepreneurship, Aidha equips women with the skills for saving, investing in productive assets and starting a small business. The embassy is delighted to cover the costs of two single session short courses this year. The short courses, offered for free, will provide a basic introduction for anyone considering committing to a longer-term course.

The Embassy’s objective is to foster the bilateral relations between Switzerland and Singapore on all levels, with a focus on political, financial and economic topics as well as science, culture and the promotion of trade and tourism. The announced position is of temporary nature from Jan/Feb 2022 until end of May 2022.

The Heads of Mission of the European Union (EU), EU Member States and Norway and Switzerland issue the following joint statement in Singapore: The EU Delegation and the diplomatic missions of the EU Member States and of Norway and Switzerland call on the Singapore authorities to halt the execution of Nagaenthran a/l K Dharmalingam, and to commute his sentence to a non-capital sentence.

The Embassy is delighted to support two screenings of the film “La Mif” (“The Fam”) at the 25th German Film Festival (GFF), organised by the Goethe-Institut Singapore with The Projector. The film won Best Feature Film (Grand Prix of the Generation 14plus International Jury) at the 2021 Berlin International Film Festival, as well as the Golden Eye Award (in the Focus Competition) at the 17th Zurich Film Festival.
