Online Sharing Session on Aidha
Online Sharing Session on Aidha © Embassy of Switzerland in Singapore

The embassy is pleased to announce our new partnership with Aidha (www.aidha.org), an award-winning local charity that helps empower migrant domestic workers (MDWs) and other low income women in Singapore to achieve economic independence. Through its courses on money management, communication, computer skills and entrepreneurship, Aidha equips women with the skills for saving, investing in productive assets and starting a small business. The embassy is delighted to cover the costs of two single session short courses this year. The short courses, offered for free, will provide a basic introduction for anyone considering committing to a longer-term course.

As many Swiss families employ MDWs, we encourage you to get involved and help us spread the word at home. If you are interested in finding out more about Aidha and its programmes for a helper you know, do consider attending our online information session on 1 March, 12-1pm. The online session will feature speakers Aidha CEO Jacqueline Loh and Deputy Head of Mission Nikolas Stürchler, followed by a Q&A segment. Learn more about Aidha’s transformative financial literacy programme specially developed for MDWs and hear more about its impact, and find out how your helper can join Aidha’s core classes on financial education and participate in free short courses on life skills and better financial choices!  Visit this page to sign up.

The very first of these short courses will be held by Aidha on 6 March, 10am-12.15pm, as part of its Learning Fest in celebration of International Women’s Day. Titled Introduction to Financial Education, the course will be a fun, interactive session about the life-changing benefits of making better financial decisions, and will be held both online via Zoom as well as in-person at Aidha @ FAST Hub. Sign-ups are open and free for all MDWS! Visit these links to register and find out further details on the online workshop & in-person workshop.

Location: Both online via Zoom as well as in-person at Aidha @ FAST Hub, Singapore
