The embassy is proud to be a part of the Francophonie Film Festival 2023, which is part of the Francophonie celebrations during the whole of March. The Francophonie Festival is a yearly event spanning several weeks to celebrate the International day of the Francophonie on March 20 and showcase and share the Francophonie world values: solidarity, humanism, peace, democracy, human rights, as well as cultural and linguistic diversity. It is organised by 22 embassies in Singapore and numerous local partner organisations.

The embassy is proud to partner with Yoga for a Change in organizing a blissful wellness morning retreat at the Westin. The morning will start with a rooftop poolside yoga flow, followed by a nutritious breakfast, and end with an introductory workshop on mindfulness of the breath. All proceeds from the ticket sales will be donated to Daughters of Tomorrow to promote low-income women's upskilling and professional advancement.

As part of the Francophonie Festival 2023 the embassy is partnering with the Canadian High Commission in Singapore and the Singapore Ice Hockey Association for an event to showcase the Swiss and Canadian national sport! The event will consist of an exciting ice hockey exhibition game and a learn-to-skate and play ice hockey session guided by SIHA instructors. Skates and hockey sticks will be provided, as well as some Swiss and Canadian snacks and beverages! Tickets for the on-ice try-outs are already SOLD OUT, but you are welcome to drop by and watch the exhibition match between Swiss and Canadian players starting at 18:15! There is no cost to watch the exhibition match, but only participants who have tickets will be allowed on ice for the try-outs! We would delighted to welcome you there and cheer on the teams.

After two long years, the Swiss Club is finally able to host the traditional Swiss National Day celebration in their premises! Building on the success of previous years' memorable events, this celebration of all things Swiss promises a full evening of enjoyment, Swiss fare, wines, beverages, music and dancing. The programme includes opening speeches, amongst others by our deputy heads of mission Barbara Gonzenbach and Nikolas Stürchler Gonzenbach, a screening of President of the Swiss Confederation Ignazio Cassis, a traditional lampion parade for children and a festive bonfire, live music by the Swiss Alpine Lions brass band, Apero with wines sponsored by the Swiss embassy, sumptuous appetiser and buffet spread with raclette stations, and a lucky draw with prizes. On 9 June 2022, the UN General Assembly elected Switzerland as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for a two-year period from 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2024. During its term, Switzerland will use its strengths to promote peace and security and position itself as a neutral bridge-builder, and promote its interests through direct contact with the major players on the international stage. Switzerland will be able to use its seat on the Security Council to promote its stance more strongly and thus exert influence on international developments as a credible partner.

The embassy is proud to take part in this year’s European Film Festival, which will be held from 12-26th May 2022! We are part of 23 countries that will present a total of 24 films at the festival, showcasing the best of European cinema. This year’s Swiss entry to the EUFF will be Atlas (2021) - directed by Swiss filmmaker Niccolò Castelli, it is a gripping story of resilience and renewal.
