Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts presents a series of events showcasing the fruit of the hard-work of their graduates every year. Two concerto-concerts will be held this year in June and the first one will be conducted by Swiss conductor/composer Patrick Furrer.

Patrick conducted orchestras like the Tonhalle-Orchestra Zurich, the Symphony Orchestras of Basel, Bern, St.Gallen and Biel, the Munich Rundfunkorchester, the Niederösterreichisches Tonkünstler-orchester, or the Orchestre du Conservatoire National de Paris. In the opera-field he worked for companies like the Basel Opera House (Theater Basel), the Lucerne Opera House (Luzerner Theater), the Zurich Opera House, the Innsbruck Opera House (Tiroler Landestheater) or the Vienna Volksoper. He worked on about 40 different opera productions which he conducted in roughly 150 performances.

Since the 2010/11 season, Patrick regularly works in the music staff of the Metropolitan Opera New York and the Salzburg Festival.

In 2002  he conducted the opening ceremony of the Swiss National Exposition (Expo.02).

Besides conducting, Patrick works as a composer and arranger in various styles.
