WFP - Food Aid Swiss Dairy Products (DPRK)

Through the usage of food aid in the form of Swiss dairy products, Swiss Humanitarian Aid contributes to the prevention and treatment of malnutrition, undernourishment, and disease. The SDC’s Humanitarian Aid administers the credit granted by parliament for a yearly amount of some CHF 20 million destined for the purchase of Swiss dairy products and their use for the benefit of the needy. Its task is to ensure a sustainable, targeted, and closely monitored food aid.

UNRWA is an agency for security and human development. It is active in providing education, healthcare, social services and emergency aid to almost 5 million Palestine refugees living in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, Jordan, Lebanon and the Syrian Arab Republic. Switzerland supports the organisation with CHF 20 million per year.

Le marché du travail au Mali est caractérisé par une main d’œuvre peu qualifiée. Dans ce contexte, 300'000 jeunes arrivent chaque année sur ce marché sans compétences. L’offre de formation par domaine et/ou filière est en deçà des attentes du secteur productif. La formation professionnelle e 40'000 personnes dont 50% de femmes à l’horizon 2017, améliore la qualité des ouvrages et augmente la compétitivité des entreprises en contribuant à l’augmentation des revenus dans les régions prioritaires de la DDC et de la coopération danoise.

The last phase of the project “Clean Air” helps to relieve the impacts of the climate change and to improve quality of life of the Bolivian population. By measures in 12 big Bolivian cities, where 88% of the country‘s car pool is located, the annual CO2 emission will be reduced by an estimated 130.000 tons.

In February 2012, Switzerland signed a partnership agreement to join a network aimed at boosting global emergency preparedness. The network is called United Nations Humanitarian Response Depot (UNHRD) and is run by the World Food Programme as a common service accessible to UN organizations, GOs and NGOs. By contributing to the network, Switzerland aims at enhancing its own preparedness and response capacity as well as of the international humanitarian community.
