Il Marocco è diventato il primo Paese del continente africano a disporre di un’unità di ricerca e soccorso conforme agli standard internazionali. La Svizzera ha addestrato per vari anni esperti della protezione civile marocchina. Il Marocco dispone ormai di un sistema di risposta alle catastrofi rapido ed efficace. In questo modo potrà ridurre i danni e il numero di vittime causati, in primo luogo, dai sismi.

Primary Health Care (PHC)

The Primary Health Care project supports government as well as ethnic health systems in Kayin/Karen State, a conflict affected State of southeast Myanmar. Basic health services are strengthened through training, supervision and supplies. Communities are empowered to achieve better health and feedback mechanisms are introduced. The project further supports the coordination between ethnic and government health systems whenever possible.

World Bank Multi-Partner Fund (MPF)

In 2013, the international community and the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) agreed on a new framework of engagement (New Deal Compact for Somalia) to support peace and state building efforts in the war-torn country. With its contribution to the World Bank Multi-Partner Fund (MPF), which is one of the funding windows of the Compact, Switzerland will support the rebuilding of core state functions and the socio-economic recovery in Somalia.

“Skate, Educate, Integrate”: Program for Afghan Youth

Through skateboarding and an arts-based curriculum, the project enables access to quality educational and recreational opportunities for Afghan youth of all backgrounds and particularly girls and impoverished children, increases their confidence, abilities and involvement in their communities as well as contributes to strengthen their social networks. It runs across two purpose-built project sites in Kabul and Mazar-e-Sharif. The proposition is complementary to SDC’s education portfolio.

République Centrafricaine (RCA) – DRCRenforcement capacités de protection communautaires

La DDC, avec ce financement, souhaite renforcer les capacités de protection communautaires dans les préfectures de l’Ouham et de l’Ouham Pendé, situées au Nord-Ouest du pays, à la frontière avec le Tchad. Renforcer la cohésion sociale permettra de diminuer les risques de reprise des hostilités et d’affrontements interconfessionnels et de renforcer les capacités d’autoprotection des communautés en diminuant leur vulnérabilité.

Multi Sector Assistance to refugees in Maban County

The project is designed to provide multi sector assistance to refugees in Yusuf Batil refugee camp (target 40 867), Maban County, Upper Nile State, through the provision of health, nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene services. In addition, vulnerable host communities (target  21 688) will be able to access the health service and safe water supply.

Strengthening the Institutional Framework in the Water and Sanitation Sector in Moldova

Poor governance is the key bottleneck in the Moldovan water sector, which jeopardizes long-term sustainability of past investments, and hinders new Investments to extend access to drinking water for all. With this project, SDC will improve the steering and management of the sector as well as the performance of key sector institutions, through working directly with the national institutions on sector capacity development, integrated water resource management, and a comprehensive water information system.

Contribution for the Population and Housing Census in Moldova

The only population census in Moldova after independence was carried out in 2004. The second census is to be held in 2014. Considering the weak capacities of the National Bureau of Statistics in this area, the Government of Moldova requested external support. The population and household census will provide the Government of Moldova with much needed data for informed policy-making. It will also provide SDC with sound bases for shaping the new programme on Migration & Development and ensuring a more efficient planning, implementation and steering of the Water and Health programmes.

Project Support for United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD)

The United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD) is an autonomous research institute within the UN system which undertakes multidisciplinary research and policy analysis on the social dimensions of contemporary development issues which has been located in Geneva since its creation in 1963. Through this single phase contribution SDC is supporting two of UNRISD’s research programs of particular interest and relevance to SDC: "When Security Meets Social Security: Social Policy in Post Conflict Settings" and "The Politics of Domestic Resource Mobilization for Social Development".

Ruedi Leuppi Stiftung - Food Aid Swiss Dairy Products (Ivory Coast)

Through the usage of food aid in the form of Swiss dairy products, Swiss Humanitarian Aid contributes to the prevention and treatment of malnutrition, undernourishment, and disease. The SDC’s Humanitarian Aid administers the credit granted by parliament for a yearly amount of some CHF 20 million destined for the purchase of Swiss dairy products and their use for the benefit of the needy. Its task is to ensure a sustainable, targeted, and closely monitored food aid.
