Establishing the Centre for Agricultural Research and Development for Southern Africa CARDESA
The objective of the project is to ensure coordination of research and investments in agri-culture in the SADC region through the support of a fully operative CARDESA as regional institution mandated and supported by SADC member states with a proper governing body. This will in return establish an action plan based on clear priorities and a secretariat able to support the members to develop joint activities on sub-regional priorities. Particular attention will have to be given to women considering that they are the most affected, but at the same time predominantly women are responsible for food production.
