The SDC-sponsored Medicus Mundi Switzerland network comprises around 50 Swiss NGOs working in the field of healthcare.

The annual symposium of the Medicus Mundi Switzerland organisation will take place in Basel on 28 October 2015. This year's theme is 'Achieving health for all in a changing world'. The event will ask what role health plays in foreign policy and international cooperation in Switzerland.

Location: Pullman Hotel, Basel. Entry on registration.

Medicus Mundi Switzerland, a platform that brings together around 50 Swiss NGOs working in the field of healthcare, is an important partner organisation for the SDC. It is devoting its 2015 symposium to Switzerland's role in international efforts to provide quality healthcare for all.

Deputy Director General of the SDC Ambassador Thomas Greminger will explain how Switzerland is assuming its responsibility in a changing world, alongside other speakers representing the WHO, Medicus Mundi International and partner NGOs. The symposium will cover topics including: how can we take the goal to ensure healthy lives into account in the formulation of public policy? How can we articulate this objective using the new United Nations Sustainable Development Goals? And what is the role of NGOs in promoting the right to health?
