The Embassy of Switzerland in Amman is glad to announce the screening of the documentary film « La Terre promise » on Wednesday 15th April 2015 at 7 pm at the Rainbow Theatre in Jabal Amman, near the 1st circle. The Director, Mr. Francis Reusser, will attend the screening which will be followed by a discussion.

« La Terre promise » (The Promised Land)
Documentary, 2014, 85 minutes, French with English subtitles) Philippe Savoy, choirmaster of the College Saint-Michel’s choir in Fribourg, is preparing to take 55 of his students to Palestine to perform a series of concerts. From Bethlehem to Ramallah, passing through Jerusalem and Hebron, between checkpoints and churches, refugee camps and historical tourism on the Dead Sea, all will discover a shattered land, a country divided by provisional peace and the incessant humiliation of the Palestinian people.

The Director
Mr. Francis Reusser, a Swiss national born in Vevey in 1942, is a well-known photographer and film director. After his education at the School of photography in Vevey and at the French-speaking channel of Swiss Television, he has established the audio-visual section at the Visual Arts Academy of Geneva. To be mentioned in his filmography are the following films and documentaries: “Vive la mort” (1967), “Le Grand Soir” (1976), “Derborence” (1985), “La loi sauvage” (1988), “Jacques & Françoise” (1991), “La guerre dans le Haut Pays” (1999), “Les Printemps de notre vie” (2002) et “Voltaire et l’affaire Calas” (2007).

This is a project of the Royal Film Commission - Jordan, with the support of the Embassy of Switzerland.
