Tajikistan has proudly participated in the festivities since 2003, and for the last five years the event has included an electronic format and DJs from Tajikistan and France, attracting an ever-increasing interest from the younger generation.

World Music Day, held on June 21st each year to coincide with the summer solstice, has spread throughout the world and is now recognized in more than 100 nations. The partnership between professional and amateur performers, who share the same platform to present fascinating performances, is a particular feature of this festival. The festival's concerts are all held outside in the tranquil settings of parks, gardens, and squares.

The event is organized by Bactria Cultural Centre, with the support of the Government of Switzerland and French Embassy in Tajikistan.
