“Archibald Reiss was a great friend of Serbia and, like a real friend, he stood by the Serbian people in times of difficulty but was also straightforward in his criticism. The fact that we are commemorating him today here in Belgrade is a testament to the ability of Serbia to recognize true friends. I am sure that Dr. Reiss would be thankful for this recognition of his friendship towards Serbia”, said Salzmann.
After wreath-laying, a tribute was paid to the Swiss citizen Dr. Archibald Reiss in front of the monument dedicated to him at Topcider Park, in Belgrade. The Swiss and the Serbian anthems were played on that occasion.
