Programme d’Hydraulique Rurale – Appui Au Secteur Eau et Assainissement (PHRASEA) Phase 2

Moins de 50% des nigériens ont accès à l’eau potable et seuls 7% disposent de conditions d'assainissement de base. La croissance démographique galopante, la dispersion de la population sur le territoire et la précarité des finances publiques sont des contraintes empêchant l'accès des populations à ces services de base. Le PHRASEA vient en appui aux efforts du gouvernement, en misant sur la maitrise d’ouvrage des communes.

Diakonia International Humanitarian Law Resource Center (IHLRC) “Closing the Compliance Gap”

The Swiss contribution supports Diakonia’s International Humanitarian Law Resource Centre (IHLRC) to respond to the demand for accurate and principled legal analysis on International Humanitarian Law (IHL) and International Human Rights Law in the oPt, and to make it accessible to States and relevant organizations to ensure that their policies and international aid are not in contradiction with international law. This intervention is in line with the Swiss Foreign Policy in the Region and SDC Cooperation Strategy 2015-2018 that aims to promote respect for International Law, to ensure protection by all duty-bearers of the rights of the Palestinian population.

Ground Truth believes that the best way to plan humanitarian programmes and gauge their impact is to include the perspective of people at the receiving end of aid, and has set-up tools to do so.

Humanitarian Quality Assurance Initiative, 2017-2019

By supporting the Humanitarian Quality Assurance Initiative (HQAI), at the moment where it is building its sustainability, Switzerland strives to ensure humanitarian organizations have a measurable tool to track their progress against effectiveness and accountability to affected populations, with their application of the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS), and continuously improve. This is done through the verification and certification processes of HQAI which acts as an independent organization.

Financial Contribution to ACAPS (Assessment Capacities Project) 2017-2019

ACAPS (Assessment Capacities Project) aims to improve the humanitarian response by supporting faster and more effective needs assessments. Thus, ACAPS supports and strengthens capacities, in-country and within the humanitarian systems in general, to carry out better multi-sector assessments before, during or after crises.

ProJoven: Vocational training for young people at risk of exclusion

In phase II, ProJoven contributes to the labour insertion of approximately 6,000 young people who are at risk in the Central District, the Gulf of Fonseca region, and the Muskitia/Atlantic region. This represents at least 80% of the 7,500 youth trained through a high quality vocational training/labour insertion system aligned with market demands in the production, service and tourism sectors. The training/labour insertion system also incorporates a psycho-social focus to enhance the sustainability of results.

Core Contribution to icipe (International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology)

icipe is a pan-African organisation for the development of arthropod pests to help ensure food and nutritional security and better health for people and livestock. SDC considers icipe’s work crucial for Africa’s development because icipe delivers world-quality science, contributes to regional and national food and health policies and produces biological products that help farmers to get better crop harvests. SDC supports icipe’s research for development efforts with a core contribution for the successful implementation of its strategic plan until 2020.

So können solide Grundlagen geschaffen werden, um die Lebenssituation der armutsbetroffenen Bevölkerung nachhaltig zu verbessern.
