Support to the Juvenile Justice Reform

Since 2010, the child justice system in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) has undertaken a process of reform to which UNICEF, SDC and Sida have greatly contributed. Today the legal framework on juvenile justice is compliant with international standards, but the system for its implementation still needs to be strenghtened. This last project phase will focus on building the human capacity of justice and child protection professionals, and ensuring that adequate financial means are provided by the Government to implement this framework throughout the country. Awareness of children and their families about their rights and demanding access to justice will also be a priority.

Support to Israeli and Palestinian HR/IHL CSOs

Switzerland, through SDC, will support Palestinian and Israeli human rights and humanitarian law organizations active in the oPt as part of its engagement to contribute to a just and lasting peace and to the establishment of an independent, viable and democratic State of Palestine. The promotion of HR and IHL is a major concern in the oPt and a goal of Switzerland’s foreign policy.

Moldovan local public administrations are often unable to respond to the needs of the population in an inclusive and sustainable way. Capacity to hold local authorities accountable is poor and citizens are reluctant to engage in public affairs. Switzerland will support Moldova to enhance participation in local development and decision-making, to further improve public service provision in rural areas and ensure a better framework for decentralisation. A strong focus will be put on the inclusion of excluded groups.

Clean Air China (CAC): Breaking Down the Dome: Sino-Swiss Cooperation on Air Pollution Source Apportionment for Better Air

The project will support the development of advanced air pollution source apportionment techniques with a Swiss and Chinese joint expert team to enable the design of more effective air pollution control policies beneficial for public health, the global climate and the environment. The techniques and experience of science-based policy making will be piloted in Chinese cities and shared with other developing countries strongly affected by air pollution to accelerate progress towards cleaner air.

Global Land Tool Network Partnership

Land rights are powerful resources for people to achieve sustainable livelihoods. Switzerland joins others in supporting the Global Land Tool Network (3rd Strategic Cycle) for its advocacy work and efforts to provide practical land tools available for authorities to ensure that all people, including women, youth and vulnerable groups, have access to land and tenure security. Switzerland brings in the experiences from other land related partnerships at national, regional and global levels.

La DDC par son appui financier au mécanisme de réponse rapide (RRM) dirigé par UNICEF participe à un financement rapide qui aide la communauté humanitaire à répondre aux activités d'urgencepermettant d'améliorer les conditions de vie des personnes vulnérables aiguës affectées par un choc humanitaire et la préservation de leur sécurité et dignité. Le RRM maintien une capacité de veille humanitaire, d'évaluation et de réponse rapide aux besoins urgents identifiés en biens non alimentaires et en eau et assainissement.

Desde hace 25 años mCS contribuya a la implementación de la política cubana de salud a fin de lograr sostenibilidad de servicios de salud de alta calidad y para todos. Con proyectos en los sectores relacionados con enfermedades crónicas (cáncer) e infecciosas (VIH), la pediatría y la geriatría, mCS propone un mejor uso de los recursos materiales, humanos y del conocimiento, introduciendo principios de economía de salud en el sistema cubano.

In Ukraine, socio-economic factors, the protracted conflict, coupled with an oudated mental health care system result in a high prevalence and poor treatment of mental health disorders. This project supports the implementation of reforms in the mental healthcare sector by improving framework conditions, piloting integrated, communiry-based models of care and providing psychosocial support to communities affected by the ongoing conflict.

Die REPIC Plattform zur Förderung der erneuerbaren Energien, der Ressourcen- und Energieeffizienz in der internationalen Zusammenarbeit ist eine gemeinsame Initiative des Staatssekretariates für Wirtschaft (SECO), des Bundesamtes für Energie (BFE), des Bundesamt für Umwelt (BAFU) und der Direktion für Entwicklung und Zusammenarbeit (DEZA). REPIC ermöglicht die Unterstützung von Bottom-Up Pilotprojekten aus der Privatwirtschaft, der Zivilgesellschaft und der Akademie.

Proyecto de Apoyo a una Agricultura Sostenible en Cuba PAAS

PAAS promueve las bases de un modelo de gestión para el autoabastecimiento local de alimentos, en 22 municipios, que involucra a instituciones, gobiernos, productores y consumidores, y fomenta mejoras en la producción agroecológica, procesamiento, certificación y comercialización a nivel local para 6 cadenas de valor (frutas, miel, hortalizas, oleaginosas, yuca y pollo); a la vez que se genera confianza de los consumidores, mayor acceso a alimentos sanos y nuevos empleos.
