How can the disruption of nature/culture binaries foster more-than-human entanglements? What kind of futures can we imagine in light of precarious migrations, securitised fears and asphyxiated commons? What cultures of care could be freshly fermented amidst racialized divisions? Tomorrow Is An Island, as inland, a sinland, is an artist-led project that brings together four artists and two writers from Singapore and Switzerland to rethink ideas of systemic change, counter-map traditional ideas of boundaries and envision new forms of assemblage.
Location: NTU ADM Gallery, Nanyang Technological University, School of Art, Design and Media, 81 Nanyang Drive, Singapore 637458

The Embassy is pleased to present ELDORADO by Markus Imhoof at the 29th European Union Film Festival on May 17th at 7pm at the National Gallery.
Throughout history, there have always been refugees. They used to come from places closer to home: In the lean years of WW II and its direct aftermath, the family of Swiss director Markus Imhoof, a small boy of four years at the time, took in Giovanna, an undernourished eight-year-old Italian girl as part of a limited-term program for children. After the end of her stay, she had to go back to Italy.
“Forty years separate these two exceptional musicians, but everything brings them together in music: Lindemann's energetics, lyricism and inventiveness, the sense of melodic phrasing and great instrumental technique in the young and incredible virtuoso Jeanlou Treboux. The taste that these two musicians have in common for beautiful melodies, whether from the pen of Lindemann, Jeanlou, Chick Corea or Gary Burton, make this duo a sound alchemy, poetic or energetic, which carries the listener in a dreamlike and colourful musical journey.” JazzTimes
