The embassy is pleased to participate in the 2025 European Film Festival (EUFF), taking place from 23 April to 24 May. As part of this celebration of European cinema, we are excited to present Savages, a Swiss film that is part of this year's diverse selection of European cinema. The EUFF continues its tradition of collaboration with Singaporean filmmakers, with a special focus on short films, highlighting the country's rich short film heritage.

Francophonie Film Festival: Screening of “Sauvages”

The Embassy of Switzerland in Singapore is delighted to present the heartwarming film "Sauvages" as part of this year’s Francophonie Film Festival. This stop-motion animated film, conceptualized by Swiss director Claude Barras, competed at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and premiered in the Young Audiences section of the 2024 Cannes Film Festival. Bring the whole family to watch this touching film at the Alliance Française de Singapour on March 29 at 5:00 pm: In Borneo, near the tropical forest, young Kéria rescues a baby orangutang in the palm oil plantation where her father works. Kéria's cousin Selaï comes to live with them seeking refuge from the conflict between his indigenous tribe and the logging companies. Kéria, Selaï and the little orangutang, now named Oshi, embark on a fight to protect their forest from destruction. But for Kéria, this battle also leads to a deeper revelation about her own origins.

The call for applications for the ThinkSwiss Research Scholarships: Asia Pacific 2024 is now open! A unique chance for students enrolled in Singapore universities to spend up to three months in Switzerland and redefine your research thinking at a Swiss university. The scholarship supports your project with a prorated monthly scholarship of CHF 1’800 (about 2’500 SDG/BND) for up to three months. We are excited to receive your application until 31 January 2025.

The Swiss National Day celebration is just around the corner! The Swiss Embassy invites you to join an evening of festivities at the Swiss Club on Saturday, 3 August 2024, at 6:00PM. The celebration promises something for everyone. The evening begins with an Apéro on the lawn, featuring Swiss music and the sounds of the alphorn. Children will have the opportunity to participate in a lampion parade, followed by a traditional bonfire at the Swiss School. The Swiss Alpine Lions brass band will fill the evening with lively music, while guests can savour a sumptuous Swiss buffet, completed with Raclette stations. A special highlight will be a message broadcasted from the Swiss President. Swiss Club members can secure their tickets here. Tickets for the general public are available here. While the children are captivated by stories, parents can unwind and socialize over a glass of wine, creating a perfect afternoon of leisure and cultural enrichment.

The Swiss Embassy in Singapore invites you to catch the Singapore Premiere of La Chimera, a special screening of the latest film by acclaimed Italian director Alice Rohrwacher at the 34th edition of the Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF), held in Singapore from 30 Nov to 10 Dec 2023. La Chimera is a period romantic drama set in the 1980s, starring Josh O’Connor and Isabella Rossellini that explores the theme of archaeological looting and the illegal trade of ancient artifacts.
