Under this scheme, support will be provided to cultural and artistic organizations for implementation of projects addressing the creation of the first artists' cooperative in the region, improving working conditions in culture, formulating recommendations for enhancing cultural policies, decentralization, establishing the first village gallery, reexamining Yugoslav heritage through artistic practices, and creating a platform to empower contemporary poetry.

The Art Boost Support scheme aims at assisting initiatives and processes in the artistic and cultural sector ranging from experimental to strategic, from urgent to long-term. It is not necessarily focused solely on specific artistic projects, but it encourages innovation and imagination. The Culture for Democracy project remains committed to cultural and artistic projects that foster critical thinking about past and present social and political circumstances. Within the Art Boost Support scheme, the geographical focus has been expanded to include not only national but also regional, cross-border initiatives that align with the goals and priorities of the Culture for Democracy project.

The list of organizations and projects that received support under the Art Boost Support scheme has been published on Hartefact’s website

The Culture for Democracy project aims to contribute to strengthening the independent cultural sector to foster greater social cohesion and tolerance at the local level. The first phase of the project runs from October 2021 to February 2025 and is supported by the Swiss Government with a grant of EUR 1’945’000, implemented by the Heartefact Foundation.
