During the last 7 years the Swiss support granted through the Swiss Contribution to Romania has been instrumental for increasing the capacity of several structures Security sector. It is well recognized that Trafficking in persons is a significant, growing problem in Central and South-Eastern Europe, Romania being a country of origin for victims of trafficking. After successfully concluding the project related to “Prevention, Identification, Protection – Addressing Anti trafficking in Romania”, project that referred in countering the Trafficking in Human Beings (THB) through information and capacity building at ANITP level, TaNGO project targets to addressing directly to the victims of THB.
This project gathers local and international actors from both governmental and non-governmental sectors, in a joint effort to strengthen assistance and protection to Romanian victims of trafficking, in line with the internal and international standards. The project’s main results focus on developing the human capacity of Romanian victims of trafficking in human beings to reintegrate in their home families and communities as well on strengthening the National Identification and Referral Mechanism (NRM).
TaNGO project is implemented over a period of 22 months, within the framework of the Swiss-Romanian cooperation programme, by the International Organisation for Migration – the Office in Romania in partnership with ADPARE Bucharest, Micu Bogdan Foundation Brasov and P2P Foundation Oradea.
