Swiss Days @ The Imperial open with Switzerland - Japan Economic Forum

The "Swiss Days @ The Imperial" have opened in Tokyo, with an economic forum held in presence of Dr. Mauro Dell’Ambrogio, Swiss State Secretary for Education, Research and Innovation.

A common initiative of the Embassy of Switzerland in Japan, the Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan and the Lausanne-based IMD business school, the "Swiss Days @ The Imperial" propose an economic forum on March 1st and a Swiss gastronomy fair from March 1st to 31st.

Organized on the occasion of the visit to Japan of Dr. Mauro Dell’Ambrogio, State Secretary of Switzerland for Education, Research and Innovation, the “Switzerland - Japan Economic Forum” took place on March 1st, with more than 200 participants. Switzerland and Japan are, as indicated with the forum’s title: “Partners for competitiveness, innovation and a healthier future”. The keynote speakers and panelists have discussed the advantages resulting from the cooperation between the two countries in terms of competitiveness and innovation. The favorable environment in Switzerland for Japanese companies was also highlighted with the example of the Sunstar Group, which moved its global headquarters to Switzerland in 2007. The challenges and opportunities resulting from aging societies both in Japan and Switzerland were also considered.

With the inauguration of the "Swiss Days @ The Imperial" on March 1st, the Japanese public has received the possibility to discover Swiss gastronomy and Swiss wines during one month in the historic Imperial Hotel in Tokyo. The Swiss Days have been organized in cooperation with Switzerland Tourism, the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne and the Office des Vins Vaudois.

On March 1st in the evening, the Japan-Swiss Spring Ball 2018, jointly organized by the Japan-Swiss Society and the Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan was also held in the Imperial Hotel, with more than 220 participants, and with the gracious presence of H.I.H. Princess Takamado.
