Regional consultation for the Third International Conference on Financing for Development

On 23 March 2015, a regional consultation on development funding was held by the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in Geneva. The consultation took place in the run-up to the Third International Conference on Financing for Development, which will meet from 13 to 16 July 2015 in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa. The aim of the conference is to negotiate a financing framework for the post-2015 development agenda.
The Geneva consultation, which was chaired by Switzerland, is one of five regional conferences being organised on all of the continents. Stakeholders from the private sector and civil society are also invited to the consultations.
The goal of the meeting in Geneva was to stimulate an exchange between the 56 UNECE member states and relevant stakeholders in the run-up to the conference in Addis Ababa, and to gather input for the new financing framework.
