Cities and Climate Change in Africa (CICLIA)

Cities and Climate Change in Africa (CICLIA) is a program managed by the Agence française de Développement for preparation of climate change mitigation and adaptation projects in Sub-Sahara Africa cities. CICLIA proposes to bridge the existing gap between policy-making and actual financing and implementation of low-carbon infrastructure projects.
Disaster Risk Financing and Insurance, Phase II

SECO is partnering with the World Bank to implement the Disaster Risk Financing and Insurance (DRFI) Program to support primarily SECO priority countries in building their financial resilience to natural disasters. Countries receive technical assistance helping them in their advance planning of financing needs in the case of natural disasters.

Better Gold Initiative, Phase II

During the second phase of the Better Gold Initiative for artisanal and small-scale mining (BGI for ASM), a scaling-up of responsibly sourced ASM gold shall take place. Value chains for sustainably produced gold from ASM operations in Peru, Colombia and Bolivia to the Swiss market are established. The project follows 3 components: 1) Production and certification: Support to ASM operations in their formalization and certification- 2) Policy Dialogue: Simplification of formalization framework- 3) Demand: Establishment of value chains through collaboration with private sector.

Employability Social Impact Bond Colombia

Renewable Energy for District Heating Program

The program, which is co-financed with KfW, replaces fossil fuel fired boilers of the district heating systems of Serbian municipalities with boilers fired by biomass. Additional measures will be implemented to strengthen the management capacities of the involved district heating companies.
