Bambini profughi siriani accolti dai compagni di scuola giordani

La DSC collabora con il Ministero dell’istruzione del Regno di Giordania per risanare alcune scuole pubbliche nel Nord del Paese. Gli edifici scolastici riattati consentono a una grossa fetta di bambini profughi siriani di frequentare la scuola con compagni di classe giordani. Dopo il riassesto delle prime 29 scuole, il programma è stato esteso ad altri 28 stabili.

Réseau des entrepreneurs solidaires - Food Aid Swiss Dairy Products (Madagascar)

Through the usage of food aid in the form of Swiss dairy products, Swiss Humanitarian Aid contributes to the prevention and treatment of malnutrition, undernourishment, and disease. The SDC’s Humanitarian Aid administers the credit granted by parliament for a yearly amount of some CHF 20 million destined for the purchase of Swiss dairy products and their use for the benefit of the needy. Its task is to ensure a sustainable, targeted, and closely monitored food aid.

Programme Culture et développement en Suisse: Soutien de la DDC aux festivals de cinéma 2015-2018

Lieux de diffusion par excellence du cinéma non commercial et événements professionnels à caractère convivial, les festivals de cinéma jouent un rôle central pour l’accès des réalisateurs et de leurs productions au public, marché et réseaux professionnels suisses et internationaux. La DDC soutient les festivals qui s’engagent en Suisse pour les cinématographies du Sud et de l’Est. Elle contribue ainsi à la qualité des plateformes mises au service des réalisateurs et producteurs du Sud et de l’Est.

Un film permet d’entrer dans une réalité, de l’interroger et de susciter tant l’émotion que le débat. Il est pour son auteur un moyen de communiquer sa vision des choses. Or dans les pays non industrialisés, produire un film et le diffuser est encore plus difficile qu’ailleurs. Visions Sud Est (VSE) a pour but de soutenir la production d’œuvres cinématographiques indépendantes en Afrique, Asie, Amérique Latine et en Europe de l'Est. Ce soutien favorise l’existence de structures de production dans les pays du Sud et de l’Est.

In Bosnia e Erzegovina la DSC si impegna affinché le persone in cerca di impiego e i lavoratori poco qualificati acquisiscano competenze orientate alla pratica nel quadro della formazione professionale formale e non formale. Per un impiego della forza lavoro mirato occorre una formazione improntata alle esigenze dei vari settori economici.

Access to a higher education is a key element in the poverty reduction strategy of the Mongolian Government. Well-educated people can work in the secondary and tertiary sectors, the later already contributing about 50% to the GDP of Mongolia. Yet because many herders live at a subsistence or even lower level, higher education is not affordable without a reduction in animal numbers below the minimum level for an absolute minimal living standard.

The Yemen Emergency Response Fund (ERF) is a multi-donor pooled fund, established in August 2010 in order to provide NGOs and UN agencies with a rapid and flexible funding mechanism to respond to unforeseen short-term humanitarian needs of vulnerable communities affected by emergencies. ERF funded projects aim to address the most urgent needs of vulnerable communities, complement the activities of other humanitarian actors and reinforce coordination and partnership of UN Agencies, NGOs and other actors, including local authorities to strengthen the humanitarian response capacity.

**Water Efficiency in Rice and Cotton**

The project aims at improving the household economy combined with the promotion of more efficient production of rice and cotton of 45,000 smallholder families in two regional clusters: Central Asia (Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan) and South Asia (India, Pakistan). To motivate rice and cotton farmers to be more efficient with irrigation water and other inputs, a push-pull approach is applied: smallholders receive technical assistance and market access for more efficient production while private companies enter into reliable business partnerships.

Strengthening Accountability and Governance of NGOs in Nepal (SAGON)

NGOs in Nepal provide important social services and complement government efforts to promote socio-economic and political development. However, the limited management capacity and inadequate governance of many NGOs hampers effective service delivery. The project supports the NGO Federation and its members to improve their effectiveness, accountability and governance through capacity building and the establishment and monitoring of Internal Control Systems (ICS).

Emergency medical response to a Hemorrhagic Fever Outbreak Ebola – in Liberia, Lofa

In response to the Ebola outbreak in West Africa, the Swiss Humanitarian Aid provides enforced support to its partner MSF-Suisse which tackles the epidemic in its epicentre, in Lofa county. This financial support will allow the NGO to reinforce its response capacity in augmenting the room capacity of its Ebola Treatment Unit, provide psychological support among patients and relatives, develop sensitization among communities and enhance surveillance of the epidemic spread.

The overall goal of this program is to reduce gender inequalities through women’s political and economic empowerment and leadership as well as gender responsive governance and to strengthen the knowledge and capacities in these thematic areas. Evidence shows that investing in gender equality can reduce poverty, accelerate economic growth and inclusive and sustainable development and thus can benefit everyone.
