Ristrutturazione di edifici scolastici nel Nord del Libano

Le scuole ristrutturate permettono agli allievi libanesi e siriani di seguire le lezioni nelle migliori condizioni. © DSC

Dopo aver terminato la ristrutturazione delle prime 28 scuole nel Nord del Libano, la DSC comincia ora i lavori in altri 24 edifici scolastici della stessa regione. I cantieri, portati avanti in collaborazione con le autorità libanesi, permettono di far fronte all’arrivo in massa di figli di profughi siriani.

Pakistan: HUJRA, Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction in IDPs Return Areas of FATA

The population of Bajour & Mohmand Agency of FATA is severely affected by conflicts and flash floods. In order to assist the returning IDPs in their reintegration and to ensure food security of the entire population, the project will provide income opportunities through cash for work activities and at the same time protect the population in the respective agencies and their livelihoods against future hydro-metrological disasters. The project builds on former experience in the Swat Valley.

Strong and Inclusive Parliamentary Democracy

The parliamentary democracy in Kyrgyzstan still needs to be strengthened. The project will institutionalise systems allowing the Parliament to held the government accountable for its performance in public service delivery. An increased citizens' participation in the development of national policies will help to identify adequate solutions to people's need and priorities. In this process, citizens will have an oversight on the work and performance of the Parliament and its members.

DRC: Renforcement de la cohesion sociale, de la protection et amelioration des moyens d'existence des populations de Mopti

La crise au nord du Mali a fragilisé la cohésion sociale et aggravé ainsi les tensions inter et intracommunautaires préexistantes. Les Möcanismes traditionnels de résolution des conflits peinent à atténuer ces tensions. La signature de l'Accord de Paix a donné  un espoir de retour d'une paix durable. Ce projet contribuera, à travers une approche communautraire inclusive, impliquant les autorités locales (Collectivités, autorités traditionnelles et administratives), à renforcer la cohésion social et la résilience des populations vulnérables de la région de Mopti.

Croatia & Slovenia: Emergency aid to Migration Crisis

Over the past months an ever-increasing number of people are fleeing war, violence and persecution, and migrating through the West Balkans to reach Europe. Since the closure of the Hungarian Border to Serbia on 16 October, a significant migration flow is passing through Slovenia and Croatia. In response to the deteriorating situation, SDC conducted a needs assessment in these two countries. Based on the findings, SDC has decided to deploy an interdisciplinary team and provide materials to support the local initiatives. 


Public Private Development Partnership: Social Entrepreneurship Catalytic Impact Financing for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC-IMPACT)

Social entrepreneurs (SE) find innovative, effective and efficient solutions to social problems with a private sector, entrepreneurial approach. ODA funds are scarce and need to be used with leverage. This intervention will leverage social enterprises efforts, impact investors’ capital and local government funds for poverty reduction and improved livelihood of low income households.

PROMISE: Poverty Reduction through Safe Migration, Skills Development and Enhanced Job Placement

Migration to Thailand has increasingly become a poverty reduction strategy for marginalized households. It gives a higher income to the individual and, through remittances supports their community of origin. However migrants are often exposed to precarious labour conditions. PROMISE promotes skills development and safe migration and improves thus the livelihoods of the migrants in Thailand and their communities of origin in Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar.

UN-Habitat: Gaza Participatory Spatial Planning Support Program

Participatory spatial planning will be tested in 5 municipalities and 10 neighbourhoods of the Gaza Strip by acknowledging that a human rights based approach to planning legitimizes the interests of marginalized groups. This intervention aims at fostering a more sustainable urban environment in the context of continuous demographic growth, while contributing to the overall reconstruction efforts after recurrent armed conflicts, and several years of full blockade of the Gaza Strip.

Emergency Response to Gaza Municipalities (“Window 5” of MDP-II)

The infrastructure of the 25 Municipalities in the Gaza Strip was severely hit in July-August 2014. On the basis of a dedicated needs assessment, a specific funding window was designed in the World Bank-led and SDC co-funded Municipal Development Programme (MDP-II). Through an additional contribution to this funding window, SDC will facilitate the restoration of key municipal services and the rehabilitation of damaged municipal infrastructure in line with the objectives of the Swiss Cooperation Strategy for the oPt 2015-2018.

Programme de soutien au processus électoral en Tunisie

La pérennisation du processus électoral est une étape fondamentale de la consolidation de la transition démocratique en Tunisie. Ce programme contribuera à l’institutionnalisation des autorités électorales indépendantes, ainsi qu’à l’organisation opérationnelle des scrutins 2016. De plus, il contribuera à la sensibilisation des citoyens, en particulier les jeunes et les femmes, avec comme objectif d’une participation importante de leurs parts dans les processus de prises de décisions. Vu son engagement dans le processus électoral en Tunisie depuis 2011, la Suisse est aujourd’hui considérée comme un partenaire crédible et impartial.

Afghanistan Reconstruction Trust Fund (ARTF)

Millions of Afghan women, men and children gained access to services and improved their income since the Afghanistan Reconstruction Trust Fund’s initiation (ARTF) in 2002. It also significantly contributed to the Afghan state’s capacity. ARTF is a coordinated financing mechanism for the state budget and its priority national investment projects focusing on agriculture, rural development, infrastructure, education, health and governance.

Sustainable and Inclusive Regional Economic Development in Macedonia

The level of development of Macedonia‘s eight regions is highly unequal. A national structure for balanced regional development has been built up since 2007. SDC will contribute to the establishment of a national system for coordination and monitoring for balanced regional development. In the regions, good governance will be enhanced; project development and implementation capacities will be improved with focus on the less developed regions. These measures will ensure greater allocation of funds to the underdeveloped regions.
