Cultural Programme (CPM)

Ce programme s'appuie sur la richesse et le potentiel de la culture mozambicaine pour le développement humain. En soutenant les plateformes dédiées à la culture et aux arts, la DDC vise à contribuer au renforcement du capital social du pays. Le CP a trois composantes opérationnelles et se concentre sur le nord du pays, avec comme centre Cabo Delgado, avec une orientation communautaire - domaine où la DDC a été pionnière dans l'approche de la culture pour le développement - ainsi que sur la région de la capitale de Maputo et ses environs. La CP s’inscrit pleinement dans la stratégie pays de la DDC Mozambique 2017-2020.

Integrated Health and Habitat Improvement (IHHI) Rasht Valley, Tajikistan

Rasht Valley is the most neglected and fragile region in Tajikistan - the poorest country of the former Soviet Union republics. The region marked by a sluggish transition and fragility patterns – remnants of the Civil War in the country. This project will improve quality of living conditions of Rasht Valley’s population by increasing access to better quality drinking water, sanitation and healthcare services, as well as strengthening resilience of communities to the impact of natural hazards.

Long-term support to UNRWA’s reform

01.01.2018 - 30.06.2021

Through this contribution, Switzerland enables UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East) to pursue the implementation of two key reform areas from its Medium-Term Strategy 2016-21, namely: the Resource Mobilization Strategy and the Protection Framework. These reforms will improve UNRWA’s ability to deliver its core services by stabilizing the Agency’s financial situation and by strengthening its capacities to deliver its protection mandate.

Rural Markets

Rural Household Production Units experience various difficulties preventing them from establishing themselves sustainably and competitively in the market. The Rural Markets project successfully applied the market systems development approach. It now aims to induce systemic changes and a scaling up of markets for producers in new regions of productive potential. Support of non-financial services combined with financial services will establish synergies between public and private actors.

Additional Contribution 2018 to ICRC Operations Appeal Libya

In line with the Good Humanitarian Donorship (GHD) principles, Switzerland recognizes the necessity of predictable and flexible funding to respond to changing needs in humanitarian crises. SDC funding to ICRC operations allows the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to respond proactively and to provide immediate protection and assistance for people affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence.

Cocoa value chain

01.01.2018 - 30.09.2024

Actors in the Central American cocoa value chain improve their productivity, establish public-private alliances, respect economic, social and cultural rights, and reduce their environmental impact. Thanks to the program 4,500 producer families will increase their net annual income by at least 10%, while 4,000 young adults and 2,000 women gain access to sustainable jobs. This will boost the local economy in the poor and peripheral areas in which cocoa is grown.

Support to the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC)

The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation has been supporting the Climate and Clean Air Coalition since 2014. Today, the Coalition is a recognized platform bringing together country, inter-governmental and non-governmental partners to take action to reduce short-lived climate pollutants. In the continuation of the programme, the Swiss contribution aims to build on previous success and achieve further emission reductions and increasing the climate resilience of poor population groups.

OCHA - Support to the Yemen Humanitarian Pooled Fund (HPF)

The Yemen Humanitarian Pooled Fund (YHPF) aims to promote a coordinated response towards the highest humanitarian priorities identified in the 2018 Yemen Humanitarian Response Plan (YHRP) through the provision of funding for international and national NGOs and UN entities and with the involvement of sectorial coordination groups (clusters).

SDC Water Network RésEAU

The RésEAU is the main mechanism for knowledge management on water in SDC. In the International Development Cooperation the generation, organization, sharing and application of knowledge is crucial to be effective in promoting relevant development results. The 250 network members share information and knowledge, learn from each other and have access to the latest news, trends and knowledge in the water sector; regional banks, multilateral organisations as well as from academia and private sector.

UNICEF Core Contribution 2018-2020

Despite important progress for children over the last 15 years, child rights violations and inequities persist. UNICEF is mandated by the United Nations General Assembly to advocate for the protection of children’s rights, to help meet their basic needs and to expand their opportunities to reach their full potential. UNICEF is guided by the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Switzerland supports UNICEF because it is the main UN organization with a comprehensive mandate on child protection & development.

Contribution au Réseau suisse pour l’Education et la Coopération Internationale (RECI)

Dans le cadre de sa nouvelle Stratégie Education, la DDC souhaite renforcer le Réseau suisse Education et Coopération Internationale (RECI) – qui regroupe des ONG, fédérations, hautes écoles pédagogiques, etc. actives dans les domaines de l’éducation et la coopération au développement – afin de mieux mettre en commun leurs compétences et expériences, améliorer la complémentarité des appuis dans les différents pays d’intervention et mieux répondre à la demande éducative des populations.

Programme d’appui au système de santé du Sud Kivu (PASS Sud-Kivu)

L’appui suisse dans le domaine de la santé vise l’amélioration de la qualité et l’accessibilité des soins de santé primaires et secondaires de 1.5 millions de bénéficiaires (prioritairement des mères, enfants et jeunes) dans 8 zones de santé du Sud-Kivu. Ce soutien comprend aussi une meilleure préparation et réponse aux épidémies et vient en appui à la politique sanitaire de la République Démocratique du Congo au niveau décentralisé.
