Provincial and Local Governance Support Program (PLGSP)

Nepal’s new federal constitution addresses the long-standing root causes of conflict related to poverty, gender inequality and social exclusion. The Provincial and Local Governance Support Program is the government’s nationwide framework capacity building initiative to enable the newly elected provincial and local governments to assume their constitutional rights and duties. Switzerland led the planning for the development partners, The program will strengthen subnational institutions and service delivery, and contribute to peace and stability.

Waste Collection and Transportation Management in Ulaanbaatar (WCTM)

The project aims to contribute to an effective, efficient and financially sustainable collection and transportation system for solid waste in Ulaanbaatar, based on Swiss and international practices. The intervention will contribute to improve the services, introduce a transparent tariff system and support the implementation of the new law on waste management. It targets the underserved and least developed areas of the capital (ger areas) where most poor people reside, aiming at decreasing inequalities.

L'intervention améliore les conditions de vie des citoyennes et citoyens tunisiens, notamment des jeunes et des femmes, ainsi que qualité des services publics fournis par le biais d'une participation accrue dans la prise des décisions communales et la création d’un cadre favorable et durable de gouvernance démocratique locale.

La valeur ajoutée Suisse réside dans les méthodes et les forums communautaires avec pouvoir de décision sur des projets. Le projet cible la région marginalisée des Hautes Steppes.

Contribution to the Global Network of Civil Society Organisations for Disaster Reduction (GNDR), 2019-2020.

SDC contributes to GNDR's mission of enhancing the ability of civil society organisations and the people they represent (particularly marginalised high-risk groups) to work together in a collaborative manner for full and effective participation in the development and implementation of DRR and resilience policies and plans, based on evidence from the ground, and to contribute to strengthening governance and accountability at local, national, regional and global levels.

Emergency Food and Nutrition Assistance DPRK 2019

The Emergency Food and Nutrition Assistance DPRK 2019 Project responds to an urgent request of the DPR Korea to extend food assistance to its citizens in 2019, following a poor harvest after a nation-wide heat wave and regional floods in 2018. The assistance will be provided through the World Food Programme (WFP) and targets 50,000 children in the three highly affected provinces of the country, South Hwanghae, Ryanggang and Jaggang for a period of 12 months.

Strengthening Capacities for Energy Efficiency in buildings in Latin America (CEELA)

By strengthening capacities and regulatory frameworks in energy efficient and thermally comfortable housing in Ecuador, Colombia, Mexico and Peru the CEELA project will contribute to reduce CO₂ emissions in the sector while at the same time improve the quality of life, resilience and health of building occupants including economically disadvantaged groups. CEELA builds on long standing Swiss experience in sustainable buildings and will nourish policy dialogue at national, regional and global level.

International Humanitarian Law, Security Sector Governance and Leadership in Transition

The project aims to increase the capacities of middle-ranked officers of the Myanmar Defence Forces to (1) drive forward reforms which improve the adherence of the Myanmar Defence Forces to Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law, (2) to improve protection of civilians in armed conflict and (3) to support reforms towards democratic control of armed forces.

Partenariats pour l’exercice d’une gouvernance appropriée (PEGA)

La région comme unité administrative décentralisée assure la cohérence et coordination des politiques publiques et initie des cadres de dialogue avec les acteurs du développement économique local. La dernière phase du PEGA couvre Sikasso, Mopti et Tombouctou. Elle permet à la Suisse de soutenir la consolidation des compétences des régions en faveur d’une bonne gestion des affaires publiques et contribue ainsi à la création de perspectives économiques durables et à la stabilité du Mali.

IOM : Displacement tracking in Burundi

Avec environ 147'000 personnes déplacées internes et plus de 367'000 réfugiés dans les pays voisins, les effets de la crise politique au Burundi issue des élections contestées de 2015 et des conditions climatiques défavorables sont importants. Ce projet permet de fournir des informations fiables sur les mouvements de populations internes au Burundi et les besoins des personnes déplacées. La continuité de ce projet reste d’une importance capitale dans le contexte actuel.

Small Actions Credit Line (Quick Impact)

The Small Actions Credit Line (Quick Impact) is a humanitarian instrument of the Swiss Embassy's cooperation office that allows a fast response to requests for moderate one-time funding of limited duration. It enables the Embassy's cooperation office in Lebanon to fund small scale development or humanitarian activities that addresses needs of refugees, IDPs, vulnerable migrants or communities at risk, supports the strategic strengthening of the portfolio of the Swiss Cooperation Strategy Middle East and which contribute to the visibility of Swiss presence in the region.

DRR Backstopping services for Lima DRR Hub

It has been considered necessary and strategic for the Lima DRR and RR Hub to hire a backstopper in order to provide DRR technical assistance for specific actions in design, implementation and / or follow-up processes of Lima Hub. The backstopping activities will be aligned to the first two Programmatic Pillars of the DRR and RR Regional Concept for the Andean Region which are: Disaster Risk Reduction and Policy Dialogue.

A seguito della guerra negli anni 1990, in Bosnia e Erzegovina, Croazia, Montenegro e Serbia, più di tre milioni di persone sono state costrette a lasciare le proprie case e a rifugiarsi altrove, dentro o oltre i confini nazionali. A 23 anni dagli Accordi di Dayton, nei Balcani occidentali c’è ancora circa mezzo milione di persone vulnerabili sfollate a causa della guerra nell’ex Jugoslavia. Obiettivo del Regional Housing Programme (RHP) è fornire soluzioni abitative stabili ai profughi e agli sfollati interni che ne hanno bisogno.
