Community Livelihood Enhancement and Resilience (CLEAR+)

Switzerland partners with the Lao Government and the World Bank to support communities most at risk from climate and economic shocks and promote sustainable rural development. The initiative builds climate-resilient infrastructure, promotes sustainable farming, and empowers communities to plan and manage local solutions. By directly supporting subsistence farmers, livelihoods and food security in some of Laos’ most disadvantaged districts will be strengthened.


Solution-oriented research for development programme (SOR4D)

New knowledge and innovative solutions are required to reduce poverty and address global challenges. The SOR4D programme supports partnerships between researchers in Switzerland and in the Global South and implementing partners to conduct transdisciplinary need-driven research to deliver, test and upscale evidence-based solutions at the local level. Building on Switzerland’s renowned innovation track-record, this innovative approach will impact poor and marginalized vulnerable populations.


IHI Support - Single Phase

Tanzania’s health sector faces critical challenges, compounded by limited access to reliable, locally generated data for evidence-based decision-making. Amid a shifting donor fiscal landscape impacting institutional resources, this initiative supports the 2023–2028 strategic plan of the Ifakara Health Institute (IHI), SDC’s strategic partner, by providing a single-phase support out of core contribution while safeguarding capacity and enabling sustainable, high-quality local research.


Financial inclusion and private sector engagement: SCBF and CERISE+SPTF

By drawing on the expertise of Swiss private-sector members, the Swiss Capacity Building Facility helps micro-banks, insurers, and fintechs create and scale innovative financial services. CERISE+SPTF brings together multiple stakeholders to promote best-practice standards and offer tools that help financial service providers improve their operations and client relationships. Together, these efforts help millions of low-income people build economic strength and resilience through better, client-focused financial services.


Sustainable and Innovative Rural water, Sanitation and Hygiene – Closing phase (SIRWASH)

15.06.2025 - 14.06.2027

The project strengthens policy, institutions, capacities and foster innovation in the water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) sector in rural areas. For this closing phase, it will support the scaling up of key interventions, institutionalizes and  capitalizes the knowledge acquired between the targeted countries in Latin America and the Caribbean and shares it with other regions and actors in the WASH sector. The program will also strengths and consolidates youth-led WASH enterprises.  


Strengthening of the Venezuelan Red Cross Society

15.06.2025 - 30.06.2028

This proposal seeks to support IFRC in strengthening the institutional capacities of the Venezuelan Red Cross and its 41 branches after the restructuring process,  continuing with an emphasis on organisational, programmatic and financial aspects. This will be achieved through electoral processes in each branch, a new Red Cross  law, strategic planning and policy development, training, fundraising strategies for sustainability, and protection and climate change programmes over a three-year period in a national level. 


Tchad - DRC, Résilience, Opportunités économiques, Paix (RESOPAX)

Dans un contexte marqué par une forte hausse des incidents de protection et par le manque d’opportunités économiques, ce projet renforce les populations déplacées venant du Soudan et hôtes dans la zone Est du Tchad pour qu’elles soient mieux à même de gérer leurs besoins de protection et leur accès sûr et durable aux moyens d’existence tout en favorisant la cohésion sociale dans une perspective de paix durable. Une attention particulière est accordée aux communautés les plus vulnérables, dont les femmes et filles.


ILF CLAC: Impact-linked Finance for Climate Action in Asia and Africa

The Impact-Linked Finance for Climate Action in Asia and Africa program builds on Switzerland’s successful approach of leveraging private investment to support enterprises that create positive social and environmental impact. It takes this proven model further by encouraging broader, long-term changes in systems and policies. It fosters inclusive, climate-friendly economic growth by supporting underserved populations especially women from low-income communities.


Solar Energy for Agriculture Resilience (SoLAR)

01.06.2025 - 31.12.2028

Solar agri-technologies have the potential to make smallholder based agri-food systems in South Asia and East Africa more socially just and responsive to climate change. To enable scaling of these technologies, SoLAR phase 2 will deliver tools and models to support policy making, leverage Swiss know-how to propose innovative financing mechanisms, and strengthen science, policy and practice collaboration for water-energy-food nexus gains.


GICHD localisation project to strengthen the capacity of the Ukrainian national humanitarian demining sector

01.06.2025 - 31.05.2027

In line with the objective to help Ukraine develop national capacity in mine action and localize it in the mid-term, this project led by the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) assesses the capacity of Ukrainian demining organisations to implement humanitarian demining activities in a safe and efficient manner. In a second step, the project provides targeted training and capacity enhancement support to selected operators.


DRC- Support to Ukraine recovery through Mine Action response

Mine action is a priority of Switzerland’s cooperation program in Ukraine. Throught the proposed project, Switzerland contributes to enhancing the safety and livelihoods of communities affected by explosive ordnance (EO) in Kharkiv Oblast. It follows a comprehensive approach, integrating mine action, protection, and economic recovery, while strengthening civil society capacities at the local level. Thus, the project improves the local protective environment and economic stability, sustainably contributing to the recovery of Ukraine.


Contribution to the WHO Health Emergency response in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank

01.06.2025 - 31.12.2025

Switzerland supports WHO’s health emergency intervention in the OPT in response to the ongoing armed conflict. WHO aims to save lives and reduce preventable morbidity and mortality with a focus on the delivery of essential health services, supplies and medical evacuations. The contribution is part of the Federal Council’s decision of 21 May 2025 to grant CHF 9 million in humanitarian relief assistance in the OPT.
