Embassy of Switzerland in Kenya
As the official representation of Switzerland, the Embassy covers all matters concerning diplomatic relations between Switzerland and Kenya, as well as Switzerland and Eritrea, Rwanda, Somalia and Uganda. It represents Swiss interests in the areas of political, economic and financial affairs, science, education and culture. It delivers consular services to citizens of Switzerland and other countries. It implements the cooperation strategy for the Horn of Africa.

Important Current Information Regarding the Elections in Uganda
Elections will take place in Uganda on 15 January 2026. During this period, political tensions and an increase in demonstrations are to be expected.
Please note:
- Regularly consult the FDFA travel advice for Uganda and stay informed locally as well as through local and international media;
- Avoid demonstrations, protest areas and large gatherings of people, follow the instructions of local authorities and exercise increased caution;
- Download the federal TravelAdmin app and register your trip so that the representation can contact you if necessary.
As a result of the armed conflict in Sudan, the Swiss Embassy in Khartoum remains closed.
As of 1 July 2023, the Swiss Embassy in Nairobi (Kenya) will temporarily take over consular services (Swiss abroad, entry and residence visas, preparation of marriage in Switzerland, etc.) for applicants living in Eritrea and Sudan. Therefore, persons from Sudan and Eritrea who wish to avail themselves for Swiss consular services, are requested to contact the Swiss Embassy in Nairobi as of this date.
