At the invitation of the Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ), Hungarian President Katalin Novák attended the Swiss Economic Forum (SEF) in Interlaken on 08.06.2023. On the occasion of her visit to Switzerland, President Novák was received by the Swiss President Alain Berset. During the meeting, President Berset paid tribute to the historically good bilateral relations between Switzerland and Hungary and referred to the 2nd Swiss contribution which aims at reducing economic and social disparities within Europe, from which Hungary also benefits through programmes and projects worth around CHF 87 million. At the same time, President Berset expressed his concern to the Hungarian President about the discriminatory restrictions faced by various Swiss companies in Hungary and called for bilateral and international agreements to be respected and legal security to be guaranteed.
