Grégoire Maret was born in 1975 in Geneva, Switzerland and began playing the Harmonica at age 17. His childhood was filled with a diverse array of musical influences from his Harlem born, African-American mother and Swiss father, a local jazz musician.

In 2005 Maret won a grammy together with Pat Metheny for the album "The Way Up". After this Maret toured with bassist Marcus Miller for two years before joining the ranks of Herbie Hancock's group. His exceptional talent has been utilized on recordings and tours by several greats of different genres, such as Kurt Elling, George Benson, Richard Bona, Youssou N'Dour, Elton John and Sting.
