The project aims at improving the protection of women and victims of Gender Based Violence in Uzbekistan by strengthening the role of Civil Society Organizations (CSO) to influence national policy and legislation, to raise awareness about domestic gender-based violence, and to provide more effective support services to women victims of violence. The Project is part of a Central Asia project implemented by the International NGO ACTED.

Bangladesh Health Project in Bhasan Char

Within the objective of the Government of Bangladesh to relocate up to 100’000 Rohingya refugees to Bhasan Char, the provision of health services was also set-up. The project scales-up these health services thus reducing complicated referrals by sea and land to the Noakhali district hospital. This project allows Switzerland to follow the situation on Bhasan Char by supporting Friendship which will continue to provide health services on the island to improve the health status of the refugees.

Ce projet cofinancé par la DDC et l'ONG suisse HEKS/EPER apportera un soutien aux acteurs travaillant pour les cantines scolaires dans la Grand'Anse (sud d'Haïti). En nourrissant les écolier-ère-s des familles pauvres de manière régulière et équilibrée, le projet contribue à atténuer l'insécurité alimentaire des populations vulnérables. De plus, des opportunités économiques sont crées pour les productrices et producteurs agricoles sur place.
Transboundary Waters Governance for Sustainable Development and Blue Peace

With 263 transboundary lake and river basins covering almost half the Earth’s surface, transboundary water governance is key to solving the water crisis. Switzerland has extensive experience in this field and is committed to continue its involvement with IUCN and UNECE in promoting hydro diplomacy and joint management and financing of shared water resources. The program endorses the premise that good transboundary water management is crucial for peace, security, and sustainable development.
Tajikistan Digital Foundations Project

In Tajikistan, public service delivery remains mostly complex and inefficient. Based on its experience in public sector reforms, Switzerland, in close cooperation with the World Bank, will support the digitalisation of public service delivery in order to improve access to and efficiency of public services. People's awareness of their rights to public services and their financial and digital literacy will be strengthened to hold the state accountable for the quality of public services.

Modernization of Vocational Education and Training related to Agriculture in Georgia

Agricultural productivity and incomes are low in Georgia, which is largely due to obsolete knowledge and skills. The project contributes to introducing systemic changes in agriculture-related vocational education and extension services, increasing the role of private sector actors in planning and delivering vocational training. Rural youth, women and men, will thus be better trained and acquire more relevant skills; this will contribute to increasing their incomes and employment opportunities.

Citizen Security

The program supports the Security Ministry and the National Police of Honduras in professionalizing institutional processes with a focus on human rights and gender as well as on community policing. In the Gulf of Fonseca and La Mosquitia, the program consolidates local coordination mechanisms for violence prevention involving justice and security sector actors, local governments and civil society. During the exit phase, the aim is to institutionalize the achieved results.

Water Use Permits in Kyrgyzstan (WUP KG)

Excessive water use leads to the depletion and pollution of this vital resource. In a significant paradigm shift, the Kyrgyz authorities are planning to enhance the protection of water resources by promoting a rational use through strong regulatory functions. Switzerland is partnering with the Kyrgyz authorities in the establishment and the institutionalization of such functions, by supporting the introduction of a water use permitting system that will enable a proper supervision of quantity and quality parameters.

Cameroon – Lukmef: Child protection and education in emergencies in the South West and North West

Children bear the brunt of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the South West and North-West region. The entire formal education system is under attack, making it difficult and dangerous for children to access educational services. The protective environment for children has eroded. This project will contribute to the comprehensive protection of children including their rights to education in a safe and protective environment in the South West and North West regions of Cameroon.
