Also, extreme weather and climate change further impact farmers and agricultural processors. The Responsible Business Fund Plus project aims to support agrifood businesses while reducing their environmental impact and thus deepening Switzerland's commitment to private sector engagement and an inclusive green economy.

Protection and emergency care for vulnerable and unaccompanied minors

The number of migrants transiting through Bosnia and Herzegovina remains high with more than 10% of them being unaccompanied minors in need of essential care and special protection due to their vulnerabilities. As the state system is not yet able to fully address their needs, assistance from external actors remains crucial to provide the much-needed support to this vulnerable group of migrants and to safeguard their rights.

This project aims to gather crucial data on children's and women's well-being through the 'Multi Indicators Cluster Survey (MICS)' to contribute in policy design. Additionally, it aims to enhance national statistical capacity to collect internationally comparable estimates of key indicators for monitoring SDGs and national priorities. The project will continue Switzerland's long-standing tradition of supporting data and statistical capacity in developing countries.

La Suisse à travers sa contribution au Fonds d’Appui au Développement des Communes (FADeC) poursuit et renforce son engagement dans la décentralisation financière au Bénin. Celle-ci vise l’amélioration de l’accès inclusif des populations (enfants, jeunes, adultes hommes et femmes, etc.) à des services sociaux de base de qualité. La Suisse contribue ainsi à la réduction de la pauvreté par un développement communal harmonisé.

SDC's contribution to the Nepal Impact Investment Community Fund 2 will address the gaps in the financial ecosystem and market failures that limit access to capital and constrain growth for Digital Economy Catalyst (DEC) SMEs. By bringing debt and equity together with in-built business development services support, the initiative will enable capital providers to address the needs of DEC SMEs and enable these SMEs to unlock growth, foster innovation, and create impact through the creation of job and income opportunities.

Technical and vocational education and training (TVET) to address the needs of the domestic labour market remains a key priority for the Cambodian government. With this last phase, training institutions and enterprises in 12 provinces will improve their capacities to equip disadvantaged youth with relevant skills and knowledge. At the same time, the governance and financing of the TVET system as a whole shall be strengthened, incl. through cooperation with the private sector.

The project focuses on strengthening the organizational capacities and leadership of national and local actors in Yemen to foster a more equitable, risk-informed, and locally-driven humanitarian and development system. At its core is the establishment of a Humanitarian Development Study Centre, which will serve as a hub for local ca-pacity building and collaboration. This effort is further supported by systemic initiatives that promote an inclusive bottom-up transformation of the response in Yemen.

This project supports Andean-Amazonian countries to develop and implement comprehensive strate-gies for Integrated Fire Management (IFM) governance by harvesting the synergies of two initiatives: one by FAO focusing on the Andean region, and the other by GIZ on the Amazon region. It does so by promoting the incorporation of IFM institutional frameworks and policies, capacity building, strengthen-ing early warning, and the dissemination of innovative approaches.

Due to heavy rainfall since 25./26.05.2024, severe flooding occurred in two regions of Armenia, which caused some casualties and serious damage to infrastructural facilities such as bridges, roads, railroad lines, pump stations etc. The Armenian authorities asked for international support and accepted Switzerland’s offer for assistance through the deployment of a “SofortEinsatzTeam / SET”, specialized in carrying out structural assessments of damaged infrastructure. Decisions on optimum use of funds will be taken by the Crisis Cell chaired by the Head of HA in close coordination with the desk and Swiss representation in the country.
Production des Connaissances et Appui Institutionnel pour une gestion intégrée des Ressources en Eau au Tchad - ResEau

Le Tchad subit fortement les effets du changement climatique avec des pluviométries aléatoires. Le sous-sol du Tchad dispose d’un important potentiel en eau. Faute de compétences nationales, ces ressources en eau restent très peu mobilisées. La DDC renforce, à travers ce projet, les compétences et les connaissances nationales pour favoriser une gestion durable de ces ressources et contribue ainsi à la résilience du Tchad face aux changements climatiques.
Climate Services for a Resilient Albania (ALBAdapt)

The project will increase Albania’s adaptive capacity and climate resilience through the effective generation and use of climate information and services. It will develop an innovative Multi Hazard Impact Based Early Warning System in line with international standards. The MeteoSwiss expertise will be of added value in leveraging the Green Climate Fund engagement and complementing the SECO contribution to this large strategic project.
