Hintergrund The humanitarian context in the Central African Republic (CAR) improved in 2023 compared to the past five years, particularly in the southwest and major cities. However, persistent challenges remain, including insecurity, displacement from Sudan and Chad, climate change, and economic impacts of wars in Ukraine and Palestine. Despite some stability, the living conditions of thousands of vulnerable individuals, including women, children, and the elderly, continue to be affected. 70% of the population living below $2.15 per day, which makes CAR one of the 10 poorest countries in the world. For effective humanitarian action, planning must extend beyond immediate needs to integrate resilience and support the humanitarian-development-peace nexus by government’s coordination efforts and financial support from partners.
