Additional Allocation in 2023 to International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Operations in South Sudan
SDC funding to ICRC operations allows the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to respond proactively and to provide immediate protection and assistance for people affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence. The conflict in Sudan since mid of April 2023, also caused major cross-border displacements to neighbouring countries. South Sudan is one of the most affected countries. The ICRC has adapted and reinforced its capacity to respond to increased humanitarian needs along the border with Sudan.
