Operational capabilities of the Anticorruption General Direction (AGD)

Projekt abgeschlossen

The project was aimed to strenghten the operational capabilites of the Anticorruption General Direction (AGD) of the Ministry of Administration and Interior (MAI) of the Government of Romania by modern equipment and training of investigative teams. The project was part of the thematic fund security in Romania. Further information about this fund can be found among the additional information on the very bottom of this page.

Aktivitäten The objectives have been achieved by strengthening the technical capacity of investigative teams to perform efficient undercover investigations (see result 1), by securing the IT and Communication systems that need upgrading to ensure that field operations can take place safely (see result 2) and by equipping the crime analysis teams with minimum statistical package to perform statistical analyses included in their general studies and discover crime patterns and series (see result 3).
Resultate

Erreichte Resultate:  

  • Increase of cases transferred by AGD to prosecution by 17%
  • The needed surveillance equipment supplied, installed and effectively used
  • The needed IT&C equipment supplied, installed and effectively used
  • Ensuring the technical support for carrying out diagnosis studies on corruption aspects
