The work of architecture as a tool to build the city

In this lecture, Mario Botta will talk about his recent projects: museums and exhibition spaces, libraries, religious spaces and urban constructions.
Mario Botta (born April 1, 1943 in Mendrisio, Switzerland) starts his own architect's activity in Lugano in 1969. In 2011, the practice Mario Botta Architetti moved to Mendrisio, where it continues to be involved in national and international projects and in important competitions.
Both in the year 2002 as in the year 2011 he was Dean of the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio. Since 2008 he is president of the jury BSI Architectural Award.
