The Mission of Switzerland to the European Union and SwissCore organise a Swiss Science Lecture on Ebola with Marcel Tanner (Swiss Tropical & Public Health Institute), Blaise Genton (Lausanne University Hospital) and Vasee Moorthy (World Health Organisation).

The lecture will take stock of the latest developments regarding Ebola research, in particular related to the development of a vaccine. A number of key clinical trials for the development of a vaccine in order to tackle the medium and long-term fight against Ebola are currently being carried out in Switzerland. First results of the ongoing trials at CHUV are expected in January 2015. Beyond an update on the ongoing scientific work, this lecture will also address the necessary policy developments and the longer-term perspective beyond the current Ebola outbreak. Specific scientific knowledge to attend the lecture is not a prerequisite.
