AQUA, a travelling exhibition by the NGO Art for the World, will premiere in Geneva on World Water Day, and will feature works by thirty artists exploring the importance of water for people and the environment.

The Visions du Réel international film festival in Nyon is an important gathering for professionals in the documentary film industry. The SDC supports the festival, which also presents documentary films from countries of the South and East.
‘Melancholic Africa’ is the theme of Le Salon africain (the African Book Fair) at this year's Geneva Book and Press Fair, which will take place from 26 to 30 April. Le Salon africain is supported by the SDC.
The SDC will showcase a variety of projects from around the world at the coming LUGA, the Spring Fair of Central Switzerland, which takes place in Lucerne. Visitors will have the opportunity to find out more about the SDC and try tasty delicacies from a range of countries.
This year the FDFA will once again be organising the International Career Day. On 21 April 2017 various international organisations will present their activities and the career opportunities they provide at the Kulturcasino in Bern. The day is aimed at new graduates and young academics with work experience who are considering a career in an international organisation.
The 31st edition of the Fribourg International Film Festival shines the spotlight on cinematography from Nepal. The SDC has supported the festival, which promotes film-making in the South and East, since its inception.

Why are women and girls most commonly the first to suffer in the event of a natural disaster? How does climate change affect women more than men? What role can women play to improve their situation? Four female experts will discuss these questions in Bern on International Women's Day (8 March 2017).

On Public International Law Day 2016 the Directorate of International Law will present the various stages of the restitution of stolen assets. Experts from various fields will report on their experiences.

To mark this year’s Human Rights Day on 10 December 2016, the FDFA’s Human Security Division is holding a film evening and panel discussion on the role of human rights in preventing violent extremism. The event is being organised together with the Human Rights Film Festival Zurich.
On International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which takes place every year on 25 November, the SDC and the Embassy of Canada in Switzerland are holding a panel discussion which will be open to the public.
Research and innovation are important factors in reducing poverty and global risks and securing global public goods. The 2nd Research Fair provides information about research as a contributor to the Sustainable Development Goals.
