Appointment of a Head of Post in Genoa

Mr. Hans-Ulrich TANNER as Swiss Consul-General in Genoa. Mr. Tanner succeeds Consul-General Giancarlo Fenini and is scheduled to take up his new functions at the end of April 2009. 

Hans-Ulrich Tanner was born in Wädenswil/ZH in 1953, and is a native of Zurich. He entered into the service of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs in 1977 and, with the exception of one posting in Bern, was successively assigned to Brussels, Tripoli, Madrid, Naples, Strasbourg, San Francisco, Seville, Barcelona and Manchester. Since January 2006, Mr. Tanner has been head of post at the Swiss Consulate-General in Cape Town.
