Contesto

Flooding in Nigeria has affected more than 3 million people across 34 of the country’s 36 states, in the worst floods since 2012. Over 600 deaths have been recorded, with 2,500 injured and 1.5 million people displaced. Homes and farmlands are being damaged, further heightening the food insecurity and malnutrition situation in the country, where an estimated 19.5 million people face food insecurity. The floods have also contaminated water sources, increasing the risk of waterborne disease in the midst of a severe cholera outbreak.

This project, implemented in the 18 most-affected States throughout the country, seeks to provide lifesaving multi-sectoral assistance (shelter, cash, health, WASH) to meet the basic needs of flood-affected people.
