Risultati

Risultati fasi precedenti:

The key problem in the water sector is to apportion diminishing supplies between ever-increasing water demands. Traditional fragmented approaches are no longer viable; hence a holistic approach to water management is essential: the Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM).

With its mandate to promote IWRM, Global Water Partnership (GWP) has ensured that the concept is nowadays widely accepted. GWP has not only significantly shaped the concept but contributed largely to its understanding and uptake on many different levels (local and community, basins, transboundary, national and international) through the delivery of several services and products by its network.

The World Water Council (WWC) contributes to increasing awareness of global water issues and to political mobilisation through the triennial World Water Forums.

The partnership with the Water Footprint Network (WFN) has led to the joint development of water footprint guidelines and tools that are widely utilised for more sustainable, fair and efficient use of fresh water resources worldwide.
