The project builds on the “Rebuilding the Women’s Movement in Afghanistan” program (7F-10970.01) which supported 140 Women Civil Society Organizations (WCSOs) with core funding and capacity development, followed by intensive accompaniment. 110 of these organizations continued with a small project. This project will build on these results and partnerships to further expand access to civic spaces and economic opportunities for marginalized women. Applying lessons learned and best practices of the first project, including the programme’s final evaluation (still under finalization), this project will sustain and scale the programme’s impact by:

  • Partnering with new organizations and targeting new provinces
  • Supporting graduated partners in the implementation of new project initiatives
  • Emphasizing collaboration spaces and opportunities for women leaders
  • Linking up with private sector interventions, markets and strategic economic spaces.
